<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7hbJpdQZ35busow2G0MBy1vJvZDN3On_xH9AC27CKGeQB2yddDtI2pIgeiyTX1xNwOvbxdMchxOyjgMyDTVbR-TWIIPnNdB1aZGHNR2-FgrQABfAWe8-tY_2-poNAeqxNe0zSS-XMNHE/s1600/IMG_2070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7hbJpdQZ35busow2G0MBy1vJvZDN3On_xH9AC27CKGeQB2yddDtI2pIgeiyTX1xNwOvbxdMchxOyjgMyDTVbR-TWIIPnNdB1aZGHNR2-FgrQABfAWe8-tY_2-poNAeqxNe0zSS-XMNHE/s320/IMG_2070.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I love shorts. I have always been that psycho child that wears shorts to Christmas parties and on her trips to Canada. I love all shorts, the shorter the better. Jersey, spandex or denim, bleached, acid-wash or floral print, I love them all.. So the newest product of my shorts fetish is these beauties: High-waisted tie dye shorts. See how I made them after the jump.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<b>Part un: the jeans</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqK_2es8Ryms_iTZ_wTc1uO7BHSQ5GYOCGINaE67KAv7wOQXQEWh_ukbqfXXsYIJdkyJG5g1Uo2BQBFFOPGhXxgfz7ayIyxmTtCJO1ZztqiQa6eZDNOkDU9uzZohwtQ6a-Ec4P0RqXN08/s1600/IMG_1717.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqK_2es8Ryms_iTZ_wTc1uO7BHSQ5GYOCGINaE67KAv7wOQXQEWh_ukbqfXXsYIJdkyJG5g1Uo2BQBFFOPGhXxgfz7ayIyxmTtCJO1ZztqiQa6eZDNOkDU9uzZohwtQ6a-Ec4P0RqXN08/s320/IMG_1717.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<b><br /></b>
<b><br /></b>
<b><br /></b>
These started out as debatably The Ugliest Jeans Ever. Scrounged from the local Good Will, they were stretchy bell bottoms 3 inches too short that came up to my belly button. Despite their hideousness they were perfect for the project.<br />
<br />
<b>Part deux: the shorts</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8UbDXIDKKANBDv1uTLvhcrv1YXLbQ-OQBY9JpuoM_HAXsp0qDKBSSMvxm9zaC1pBA_SsMmdcIy_wm5sULVnr0GwVoHF79K8lQa8pSg_QAY9CN6wze8L6j8wp3ZthVIbNhhZVZwre7om0/s1600/IMG_1721.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8UbDXIDKKANBDv1uTLvhcrv1YXLbQ-OQBY9JpuoM_HAXsp0qDKBSSMvxm9zaC1pBA_SsMmdcIy_wm5sULVnr0GwVoHF79K8lQa8pSg_QAY9CN6wze8L6j8wp3ZthVIbNhhZVZwre7om0/s320/IMG_1721.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To get a good cut for my shorts, I laid a well-fitting pair of shorts on top of the jeans as a reference.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHGlyBLLII1KEABjo4m1H5Y_VyKVtJ7VDZLYp7gRwjzHRtbgkk2VdAurhg6nT2LmOrGK9t0_3JTPh2fearJgIgkawuCAA7qfpIT1w0gnt2CZfRlf3njOQHXXdE85TioswVi1Psxsaj1Kc/s1600/IMG_1727.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHGlyBLLII1KEABjo4m1H5Y_VyKVtJ7VDZLYp7gRwjzHRtbgkk2VdAurhg6nT2LmOrGK9t0_3JTPh2fearJgIgkawuCAA7qfpIT1w0gnt2CZfRlf3njOQHXXdE85TioswVi1Psxsaj1Kc/s320/IMG_1727.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Use a ruler to draw a line parallel to the shorts.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNz8HzXpvGLKHNbQs7LH70PuIP97qN0xeLE3qKRxHHdxxZ7lCuleOowyjZFjenOjpXoKMQD2U3fezJjkjgGI__Qetdu8by3hl3-jh8XFHAGEeS2yyAxyXX1f2fPF_LAyv0yvB5_2VeIeQ/s1600/IMG_1729.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNz8HzXpvGLKHNbQs7LH70PuIP97qN0xeLE3qKRxHHdxxZ7lCuleOowyjZFjenOjpXoKMQD2U3fezJjkjgGI__Qetdu8by3hl3-jh8XFHAGEeS2yyAxyXX1f2fPF_LAyv0yvB5_2VeIeQ/s320/IMG_1729.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Measure the line's distance from the inseam..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7Jx_0aNRX_Ihg8K99Q860y9P-vqBifCiczvPlXA9bTBPVAroE2Ccq9wU8xU9Mo6e4Sz1aKkuvFd-eC8uX75az9s1VClmP0xIFVst4ZBIS6554Lqgx6qFvj_Gd1LkhM9CQge7kK4snAA8/s1600/IMG_1733.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7Jx_0aNRX_Ihg8K99Q860y9P-vqBifCiczvPlXA9bTBPVAroE2Ccq9wU8xU9Mo6e4Sz1aKkuvFd-eC8uX75az9s1VClmP0xIFVst4ZBIS6554Lqgx6qFvj_Gd1LkhM9CQge7kK4snAA8/s320/IMG_1733.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
Then repeat on the other side.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEislR-L7xUIY3Y-sXDvasR_OXvy0OiWnqyNmVr2caKmYVdm9G-kSHepNqowAsGItYdE7MscVCzsrbRI4XlrWWVUPriNOoX673GtqkldyCZkNg42DXETEVvh8FlROV9SgBdwVDMqIwUaegw/s1600/IMG_1735.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEislR-L7xUIY3Y-sXDvasR_OXvy0OiWnqyNmVr2caKmYVdm9G-kSHepNqowAsGItYdE7MscVCzsrbRI4XlrWWVUPriNOoX673GtqkldyCZkNg42DXETEVvh8FlROV9SgBdwVDMqIwUaegw/s320/IMG_1735.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
Now just cut the lines....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKLf7RNgLAZN5_EEX8Gv1Ll2bczSneKWIpp23baNr54EzTC5rHwOL6MKNpR8KbHui5Qat4A3Dw66hlVasw5xa8IdUFswiZVAU7uVsVnPLEvYf6K_mkRTDcAc9MgMGFx3oGv9aA7OvwdMo/s1600/IMG_1743.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKLf7RNgLAZN5_EEX8Gv1Ll2bczSneKWIpp23baNr54EzTC5rHwOL6MKNpR8KbHui5Qat4A3Dw66hlVasw5xa8IdUFswiZVAU7uVsVnPLEvYf6K_mkRTDcAc9MgMGFx3oGv9aA7OvwdMo/s320/IMG_1743.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Voila! Stage one is completed!<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Part trois: the dye</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Scrunch the shorts up into a little ball...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhppAEq_SOOwHd2YxTWEChLHzsZREkQfMUZk1k7jbDFw0V2wzA8TRYyoYIn9gFfy2sQs15ZbLpMM3TCrjmrDD83fPD2AIn0XZpfIo8AnZWeh_mtuyixMxZP7M1TK8X1CMCcvaEFyoMx9k0/s1600/IMG_1849.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhppAEq_SOOwHd2YxTWEChLHzsZREkQfMUZk1k7jbDFw0V2wzA8TRYyoYIn9gFfy2sQs15ZbLpMM3TCrjmrDD83fPD2AIn0XZpfIo8AnZWeh_mtuyixMxZP7M1TK8X1CMCcvaEFyoMx9k0/s320/IMG_1849.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
And tie them off with rubber bands.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiP7Cvu-LJ-yRCNZQGCpOsOM0KWjCHKG1rCIqB1_CIt4tL6ukLmEfI2Z0sbsvB5oM8FyB1U31FMBgAzcBIklsDAuEVBconDRMcNr0cdzIvJZyYr4X1PeERsEyMB_fD4kfr7gMKlIYken8/s1600/IMG_1852.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiP7Cvu-LJ-yRCNZQGCpOsOM0KWjCHKG1rCIqB1_CIt4tL6ukLmEfI2Z0sbsvB5oM8FyB1U31FMBgAzcBIklsDAuEVBconDRMcNr0cdzIvJZyYr4X1PeERsEyMB_fD4kfr7gMKlIYken8/s320/IMG_1852.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Place them in some kind of bowl or bucket that can handle bleach.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3W3mNN-uxn3hDLaeUuDbguTn9t4RbzMDz4Bhtxg9jQ9UC-15qPFvyJMpKySufhJpZSpgdBTIkWLemnJLsWaO-qXgaqeNMspZ7HvH74zgm_m-pAjuNvMwK3y2t2PULoXA_mL8OEreMiXA/s1600/IMG_1854.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3W3mNN-uxn3hDLaeUuDbguTn9t4RbzMDz4Bhtxg9jQ9UC-15qPFvyJMpKySufhJpZSpgdBTIkWLemnJLsWaO-qXgaqeNMspZ7HvH74zgm_m-pAjuNvMwK3y2t2PULoXA_mL8OEreMiXA/s320/IMG_1854.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
Fill the bowl with water to come halfway up the shorts...<br />

and pour in the bleach to cover.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My shorts kept floating to the surface, so I used a drinking glass to hold them down.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Let the shorts soak for 30-40 minutes, then rinse with cool water and vinegar (to stop the bleaching process.) Put the shorts into the washer then dryer.<br />

This week was a mix of highs and lows: the super-stressful of redoing my room (giant amoeba-shaped paint spill included) today contrasting the calm serenity from reading and finishing <i>1984 </i>(incredible read by the way) and my dad <i>finally </i>turning on the beloved air conditioning. But through all the ups and downs one thing remains constant: my love of food. Specifically, chocolate chip cookies. Bad day? Bake a few. <i>Really </i>bad day? Just eat the dough with a spoon. Sit in Modge Podge while wearing your favorite white shorts and spill a half gallon of paint on your carpet? Shove three cookies' worth of dough into a ramekin and top with ice cream and the food of angels:<i> whipped cream. </i>Point is, I made a Pizzookie, and you can see how I did it after the jump. Other point is that cookies solve all of life's problems.<br />

<br />
Now in my neck of the woods, we have a restaurant called B.J.'s Brewery. I don't know if they're as common as the rest of the us, but I pity you if you've never been to one. Their deep-dish pizza is pretty amazing, but the real joy is their dessert: a piping hot giant chocolate-chip cookie served in a tart dish a la mode, known as a Pizzookie. It's just as amazing as it sounds, which is why I decided to make one. But my Pizzookie is gourmet. I know this because it is topped with sea salt, and all gourmet things are topped with sea salt. This dish is SO gourmet, in fact, that.....<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG-1K4n-DQmZEt8elJTrUyRe-nr45fQAcAf3P0HHYXc4zukb0Woz0jFLmJuaRPAP3flutlCI8B9j0a-qglgvIrqtMe7TX_LeY_DbxcLDylq_Rv8SzoVmTM9-s2Vo-zhHNRjQGK4XcGSkg/s1600/IMG_1781.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG-1K4n-DQmZEt8elJTrUyRe-nr45fQAcAf3P0HHYXc4zukb0Woz0jFLmJuaRPAP3flutlCI8B9j0a-qglgvIrqtMe7TX_LeY_DbxcLDylq_Rv8SzoVmTM9-s2Vo-zhHNRjQGK4XcGSkg/s320/IMG_1781.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I made it with store-bought cookie dough. Because it was on hand, and frankly it tastes almost as good.<br />
<br />
<br />
Anyway, to make this homemade delight, press cookie dough into any old ramekin. Cover the bottom with a half inch thick layer of the dough....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

then sprinkle the sea salt on top. That's it, really.<br />

Bake this delight at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 13 minutes until a toothpick comes out only slightly sticky.The ramekin will be extremely hot. Serve immediately with loads of ice cream and whipped cream.<br />

One of the downsides to being 14 is that you're broke. As in penny-pinching, coupon-clipping, can't-even-afford-a-BigMac broke. So broke I have to shop the sales. At Forever 21. But the advantage of having a small closet is that it challenges you to mix up your clothes in new ways. There's little creativity in alternating between 30 days' worth of pre-matched outfits; having only 5-6 items that are suitable for cold weather makes you find new ways to wear the same old sweater. So I created this series, Fashion Deja Vu, in which I show you several different ways to wear the same item, not even including the variety jewelry and accessories can add. See how I did it after the jump.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
First off is the shirt. This particular chambray button-up is from The Children's Place. But the best thing about it was that it was actually free; I "borrowed" it from my little brother, who got it for a Doctor Who costume. That's right: I'm wearing a shirt that's meant for an 8-year-old boy's Halloween costume. Talk about scrappy fashion.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyway, I think it actually fits pretty well besides the obvious age, gender, and usage differences. The sleeves are a little short, but I like to roll those up anyway.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yesterday I bought my new school supplies. While most kids my age want to throw a chair at their television every time a commercial even mentions back to school shopping, I kind of enjoy it. There's something about the crisp, untouched notebooks and perfectly sharpened pencils that inspire me to actually use folders this year instead of the bottom of my backpack, and to write in an agenda instead of the back of my hand. But more important than this new sense of hope is that the folders, notebooks, and agendas are the perfect fodder for my craft and Modge Podge addictons. So I decided to start this series about how you too can ready your school (or office) supplies. After this post from Blue Cricket Design I have been <i>obsessed</i> with anything bird, so I decided to create this agenda. The full how-to is after the jump.</div>

Hopefully you already have all the supplies needed for this project. You'll need:<br />

-The agenda you wish to decorate (you could also use a small notebook or journal)<br />
<div>
- 2-3 old magazines<br />
<div>
- An old newspaper or two</div>
<div>
-Modge Podge (I used Matte Finish simply because that's what was on hand)</div>
<div>
-Foam brushes and something to pour the Modge Podge into (paper plate)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- Scissors</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- A pen or pencil</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<b><u>Part Un</u></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFNT54xVz0XPznrGXqjWnAfoBcjrYaLSU0RtxmEAWfNB2RuwevKcc3wtHlzVGck_-TEQx_6mefBW7HoxubTku4AF9uASdVjQeytynTxNG9RfVgLBTYpMUGos2hRm6BLkfHGBSiOnwuLRw/s1600/IMG_1667.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFNT54xVz0XPznrGXqjWnAfoBcjrYaLSU0RtxmEAWfNB2RuwevKcc3wtHlzVGck_-TEQx_6mefBW7HoxubTku4AF9uASdVjQeytynTxNG9RfVgLBTYpMUGos2hRm6BLkfHGBSiOnwuLRw/s320/IMG_1667.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After you've gathered your supplies, look through the newspaper for a page to use as the design's base. Something with no pictures or big headlines and reaaaaallllly small print is best (I found a page with racing stats). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguml2_ncT6RikqaGSB0ulI29ImaO2kxAW8tLKhAiEy-lnyYzpO3a7V7QqC9XgLK_PnMJaE_gf-CuunSvBl3w6YRE8X6eb7e0h_JObr6-BNhpcQ8OJRVUGG2O2Lalb6wrtNDCKT73SmzhA/s1600/IMG_1672.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguml2_ncT6RikqaGSB0ulI29ImaO2kxAW8tLKhAiEy-lnyYzpO3a7V7QqC9XgLK_PnMJaE_gf-CuunSvBl3w6YRE8X6eb7e0h_JObr6-BNhpcQ8OJRVUGG2O2Lalb6wrtNDCKT73SmzhA/s320/IMG_1672.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Trim it down to loosely cover the agenda, but it's okay if it hangs over the edges (you can trim that later). I had to cut slits on either sides to allow for the elastic band that holds the agenda shut, but I managed to patch them in later.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTg-60NohhgCPotN9dUo5Sz5Ce-c643piUwyucPc3Ob31XwAdsLHqPTwiY9yn0QAx_LxiAYR635PKT8Ocl3u8AQa5kD2TQ1VVEFJYuWQ0jRPC3-PRweHbMAIURh5X_fl-bUmM7tbv8M3Q/s1600/IMG_1677.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTg-60NohhgCPotN9dUo5Sz5Ce-c643piUwyucPc3Ob31XwAdsLHqPTwiY9yn0QAx_LxiAYR635PKT8Ocl3u8AQa5kD2TQ1VVEFJYuWQ0jRPC3-PRweHbMAIURh5X_fl-bUmM7tbv8M3Q/s320/IMG_1677.JPG" width="239" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Please ignore my hideous nails.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now for a light base layer of modge podge.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHSVfuxNIUr6kf0N7zW-woZe-x4nOqIqyqbqJ11jKL7HmKeq-iwPTMiYNBNkfKFNhS8P_Cgj3yBKBXImJtMhBNv5W920YefCTcxWXnNcIkXCvx6egZ0wX0GeOjv_A6io1mn4MbcDI8psk/s1600/IMG_1679.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHSVfuxNIUr6kf0N7zW-woZe-x4nOqIqyqbqJ11jKL7HmKeq-iwPTMiYNBNkfKFNhS8P_Cgj3yBKBXImJtMhBNv5W920YefCTcxWXnNcIkXCvx6egZ0wX0GeOjv_A6io1mn4MbcDI8psk/s320/IMG_1679.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And carefully lay down the newspaper. I allowed for some wrinkles to add a vintage-y effect, but you can pull the paper more taught if you want it to be smoother.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV-kMxpICTtf75XIWUN6fM5Yh3ai9vfcVmf_PZp2qzqZKJiI1kwHv5iceAgYlSd504M09esaDdHkoCO_7DH1M9jt5BtUys8ZMzfHnuieqKrANw5BewUgFPyKor7D6dobOnrd6FctHC_I0/s1600/IMG_1680.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV-kMxpICTtf75XIWUN6fM5Yh3ai9vfcVmf_PZp2qzqZKJiI1kwHv5iceAgYlSd504M09esaDdHkoCO_7DH1M9jt5BtUys8ZMzfHnuieqKrANw5BewUgFPyKor7D6dobOnrd6FctHC_I0/s320/IMG_1680.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Now just add another layer of Modge Podge and you're done with the first layer.<br />
<br />
<b><u>Part Deux</u></b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPPoIMiquSuOsCXoBoYGAXkoH3gNnGU1wTOnwDhu6fyLDBUozlj7DCDRwASNnZRhzAxnZ2bZyPJCADKMyAOaeRjkgadLOgnGCnP29lmJRSgUJDUA3Xr9l7Y_YHhVmShKFwGHG5EPPz2rM/s1600/IMG_1663.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPPoIMiquSuOsCXoBoYGAXkoH3gNnGU1wTOnwDhu6fyLDBUozlj7DCDRwASNnZRhzAxnZ2bZyPJCADKMyAOaeRjkgadLOgnGCnP29lmJRSgUJDUA3Xr9l7Y_YHhVmShKFwGHG5EPPz2rM/s320/IMG_1663.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<b><u><br /></u></b>
<b><u><br /></u></b>
Now it's time to start creating the bird. I started by sectioning off the bird by color, using the image as my guide. For example, the bird had a brown belly, so I marked off a section of the belly and labeled it "brown".<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggTpm3Gf3nshk9Si777sKgG1JqTR8COHsRMEi9Kx4LBBXrSOCJKJtUdlpjBnjNAIuUjozSf7a1dTKNeLNeCpAjD8FZhNsG47CD1-RcfncvyuhmBgdcMvV1u5Q7ZUOZw1Y8kYzSsonyQ3A/s1600/IMG_1685.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggTpm3Gf3nshk9Si777sKgG1JqTR8COHsRMEi9Kx4LBBXrSOCJKJtUdlpjBnjNAIuUjozSf7a1dTKNeLNeCpAjD8FZhNsG47CD1-RcfncvyuhmBgdcMvV1u5Q7ZUOZw1Y8kYzSsonyQ3A/s320/IMG_1685.JPG" width="239" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Cutting the belly of the bird</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now here comes the tricky part: Actually creating the bird. Start off by cutting out the bird section you wish to recreate. Here is my bird's brown belly and a granola bar ad I thought was the right color. Now hold the template in place and cut around it loosely. Continue this process with all the pieces.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwkPC46QTNekFdm5mVXdj7l6lt9E3Z7XJt3Si85dsAQtjFX4BTU_6mEuTd8HoRRE3tPkXHC7jREVKRke3prl3TyIZHYPg-QkOQnA2wEtTJXTdFTZhwGdtq5AP0peELcbaH48zE6aO-PKI/s1600/IMG_1687.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwkPC46QTNekFdm5mVXdj7l6lt9E3Z7XJt3Si85dsAQtjFX4BTU_6mEuTd8HoRRE3tPkXHC7jREVKRke3prl3TyIZHYPg-QkOQnA2wEtTJXTdFTZhwGdtq5AP0peELcbaH48zE6aO-PKI/s320/IMG_1687.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Now arrange the pieces to create a bird.....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2r7Qg9puvCC_fO-DqZN7P-o5f7LH-DeholLFW6DwnTvW-AgTgz1QTPVcZCX4CQ4OMyxkQXm_UHRVqf3Wu7gP-BXR8t02F-e7HJeuiZcNmcVAOjXn-bfmx1WdK2Y4a922pSP9S0Pu8kV0/s1600/IMG_1690.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2r7Qg9puvCC_fO-DqZN7P-o5f7LH-DeholLFW6DwnTvW-AgTgz1QTPVcZCX4CQ4OMyxkQXm_UHRVqf3Wu7gP-BXR8t02F-e7HJeuiZcNmcVAOjXn-bfmx1WdK2Y4a922pSP9S0Pu8kV0/s320/IMG_1690.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
Add another layer of Modge Podge...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8A5NktxUHb-YAL0H1Z9TcnKKuyH8NjzyXkjevxrk0XDEMThyOTWejmUcE3kyAaJK9Q4VkjiSYTuDLGUVjJgFa336wY5gCG_17LPAZ4ZtVLSn_CcZoYd21meKYQnaeL5qO6DR3Uscs7Is/s1600/IMG_1693.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8A5NktxUHb-YAL0H1Z9TcnKKuyH8NjzyXkjevxrk0XDEMThyOTWejmUcE3kyAaJK9Q4VkjiSYTuDLGUVjJgFa336wY5gCG_17LPAZ4ZtVLSn_CcZoYd21meKYQnaeL5qO6DR3Uscs7Is/s320/IMG_1693.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And anchor the bird down.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One last layer of Modge Podge. Make this one really even and smooth.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfetZSLd17iVRDttdrPZybxt6CcCuNqHavplyE3lKgfeqW1ZHf3-zWDK3LZVviOOi9EkspMEP2JCg-LZ-Db2T7sMeg3f0mfMgAt5B9jhtdHySYoONq8doGl7NxXNJ-qbHBIhatr_XD0GM/s1600/IMG_1697.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfetZSLd17iVRDttdrPZybxt6CcCuNqHavplyE3lKgfeqW1ZHf3-zWDK3LZVviOOi9EkspMEP2JCg-LZ-Db2T7sMeg3f0mfMgAt5B9jhtdHySYoONq8doGl7NxXNJ-qbHBIhatr_XD0GM/s320/IMG_1697.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Et voila! I patched up the holes with some more scraps of newspaper, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out! You could do this with an infinite number of figures.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

What do you think? Would you try this with a different shape? Comment below!</div>
